Fair American is a 14-gun privateer.   A model of this ship built more than 200 years ago is now on exhibit at the U.S. Naval Academy Museum at Annapolis, MD.  The model was made by the British Admiralty after the vessel's capture to study her fine hull form and enormous rig.

The Fair American, described as a Bermuda-built brig, having a crew of about eighty men, commanded by Captain Charles Morgan, a native of Bermuda.   Morgan was granted a privateer Commission by Governor of South Carolina in November, 1776.
