CENTURY SABRE 1965
A Century
Sabre is a boat made by the Century Boat Company, an
American boatbuilder that produced racing and pleasure
boats. Some models have a gull-winged hardtop,
center-mounted engine, and a "utility" layout with space
between the front and rear bench seats. Some Century
Sabres are rare, like the 1963 model, which only had
about 50 made.
The Century Boat Company was founded in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin in 1926 and moved to Manistee, Michigan. In
1995, Yamaha Motor Corp. purchased Century Boats and
merged the brand with the Cobia Boat Company to form C&C
Manufacturing.
For 42 years, the Century Boat Company epitomized
innovation, value, and performance. The premium
utility runabout of it's era, the Century Sabre
combined fiberglass and wood construction in a
distinctive design.
