AZIMUT 55s
Azimut’s styling is bold. The bow is snub-nosed in
profile, an axe-blade edge. Even the detailing
seems daring. The cool-looking carbon-and-steel grille
on the stem, so cleverly reminiscent of a classic Alfa
Romeo, is designed, apparently, to protect the boat’s
gel coat from the anchor. The main deck is truly
unique thanks to its hallmark large glass door.
As for the helm station, it is strictly business.
Sightlines are excellent and the Volvo Penta electronics
package offers nothing but the best of controls.
The three Volvo Penta’s IPS pod drives' 1,305-horsepower pushed
the Azimut 55S up onto plane in less than 15 seconds. Azimut
55S can sprint to 36-knot top speed. Cruising
speeds from around 22 to 30 knots are a comfortable. The
IPS600 motors are low and short, so there is
room for a tender garage over their top.
When the urge to explore strikes, with one simple
gesture the boat owner can haul in/launch the tender from
the swimming platform and set out to explore the coast.
