HAIDA 1929 yacht

The 71m classic motor yacht Haida 1929 was originally built as Dona Amélia by Krupp Germaniawerft for millionaire Max C. Fleischmann (1877-1952.) The ship was constructed to be exceptionally strong in order to serve for long scientific, fishing, and pleasure cruises in the Pacific waters off the Californian coast.

Launched in 1929, this very large classic motor yacht has had 11 owners, saw service in the Second World War and had long been admired by owner No 12. In 2016 the beautiful ship fell under the guardianship owner No 12 who is passionate about restoring the yacht to her former glory.

Following her refit, the sundeck is now one of HAIDA’s key features. Fully extended, it provides incredible space, luxury and views split over two distinct areas. Set around the magnificent funnel, you will find a pool, two lounge areas and a bar, with plenty of shade available when it is wanted.

The new interior is, as the owner desired, light, bright and calming. The yellow-cream paint from Dona Amelia is replaced with a gleaming white. The white soft goods help lighten the interior, while the carefully chosen furnishings help keep her in her era. Floors throughout are mahogany, and the joinery is mahogany or teak, to accent the white Calacatta oro marble. Soft, white carpeting from Loro Piana is used in the guest cabins, while a plush white rug is under the bed atop a wood floor in the master.

With seven cabins, classic superyacht HAIDA 1929 features a unique style, sophistication and grace. Her various saloons, the Library and the beautiful Main Saloon, are complemented by the most attractive Aft Deck with a full alfresco dining table and a superb cushioned 'fan-tail' seating area. Designing fireplaces or fire pits on a yacht is never easy. Yet there are now three fireplaces on board Haida 1929.

Two impressive original KRUPP MAK engines allow this large yacht to reach a top speed of 11 knots. 4-fin zero-speed stabilizers provides great comfort to everyone aboard. Classic superyacht HAIDA 1929 has room for 12 people in 7 cabins.

This 130cm long model of the Haida 1929 is commissioned by the owner of the yacht. It will be completed in Oct 2024.
