Riviera 51 Flybridge
When the Riviera 51 Open Flybridge was launched at the 2003
Sydney International Boat Show, she was an instant
success, with sales of more than 10 boats over the
six-day show.
The Riviera
51 Flybridge is
built to take the punishment of hard-core
fishing. But the yacht is quite luxurious. She
boasts a large and comfortable saloon with L-shaped
lounge in the aft port quarter opposite an entertainment
unit that included TV, sound system, a fridge and wine
fridge. A large C-shaped dinette around a polished
timber table was immediately forward of the
entertainment unit opposite the galley with its recessed
two-burner cooktop, convection microwave oven, drawer
fridges and a recessed, moulded sink.
The
accommodation deck of the Riviera 51 Flybridge offered two staterooms and a bunk
cabin to port. The master stateroom was to starboard
amidships with its queen double bed, hanging wardrobe
and an ensuite bathroom. A VIP guest stateroom forward
shared a second bathroom with the bunk cabin.
The world
media were enthusiastic. Riviera 51 Flybridge featured on the front cover
of Modern Boating and on both Australian and New Zealand
edition covers of Trade-a-Boat. She was reviewed in
Italy, Spain, the Middle East, Japan, Thailand, The
United States, New Zealand, and Australia.
A host of construction features lend support to
the Riviera yacht’s reputation for toughness. For
starters, there’s a collision bulkhead in the
bow to protect the hull’s watertight integrity.
In addition, if the hull should strike a
submerged object, the lower forward portion is
filled with closed-cell foam to help it stay
afloat.
The
rudders are equipped with locking pins, a signature
Riviera yacht feature. In the event of a steering gear
failure, both rudders can be manually locked in the
straight-ahead position, allowing the yacht to be
steered home on engines alone. This may seem like a
small detail, but it’s an example of the seagoing savvy.
To keep gear neat, dry, and secure, Riviera 51 Flybridge
rims the cockpit with six built-in locking cabinets
beneath the coaming. For bulkier stuff, like fenders,
there’s a pair of 2'x2' gas-assisted hatches in the sole
that afford access to a stowage area in the lazarette.

Did you notice that many
model makers did not show their models’ hulls and
sterns? It is because they make too much guesswork and
their models' hull would look terrible if shown.
It's easier for some shops to say "museum quality"
than to show. We at ModelShipMaster.com post very large photos for you to see
the unparalleled
accuracy and unrivaled craftsmanship. Nobody builds better yacht
models than ModelShipMaster.
