                     SUPERYACHTS and MEGA YACHTS

Please note that all of our models are hollow hull, plank-on-frame.  This is not only about realism and authenticity but also the matter of value.  We never make a boat model by gluing solid blocks of wood together and onto a hull which is  also made out of another (large) block of wood and  then apply some vinyl dark decal on it to make windows, portholes...

Sea Cloud

The Sea Cloud’s life story is more thrilling than some novels. She was built in 1931 in Kiel at the request of a Wall Street broker. It was his wife, Lady Marjorie Post, who shaped the Sea Cloud’s character. She had exquisite taste: Only the best was good enough for her. She loved golden bath fixtures, Carrara marble, precious woods, solid brass and antique furniture. Even today the Sea Cloud embodies that luxury and love of life – in the two owner’s suites and eight other original cabins as well in the stylish new cabins.

SKAT

SKAT’s most striking feature is the angularity of her exterior surfaces. There are no curves, save for the forward portion of her shear line, which sweeps from the bow to about a quarter of her length aft before melding into her topsides. High atop the deckhouse, her bridge deck is a semi-hexagonal fortress with large glass panels standing proudly beneath a protective brow, slightly resembling the bunkers that were long ago dug into the cliffs of Normandy. That same semi-hexagonal form is echoed in the aft end of the deckhouse, with her saloon, seating, and entertainment spaces rimmed by walls of glass.  SKAT presents an almost military bearing, even to the point of having her Lürssen project number, 9906, painted on the hull in bold battleship-style block lettering. She abounds with impressive and innovative features.  Please click to commission this model.

Christina O

Christina O was originally a Canadian naval frigate called the Stormont that was built in 1943.  After the end of the WWII Greek shipowner Aristotle Onassis purchased her and spent $4 million to convert her into a luxurious yacht and renamed her Christina. 560 tons of steel in the hull, fifty-six miles of new wiring and 140 tons of pipe work were replaced. This large task, along with the refurbishment and redecoration of gathering spaces, was stunningly accomplished in only 16 months, with more than 1.2 million man-hours and at a cost of more than $50 million. It was the most extensive refit project ever in history.  Please click to commission this model.

Izanami

Larry Ellison, yacht-lover and admirer of all things Japanese, decided not to rechristen this lady when he bought her a few years ago. Her name is that of a central deity in the Shintoism creation story. Dramatic and even startling in appearance, since she resembles a military craft, Izanami almost dares other vessels to take her on—the perfect complement to a yachtsman like Ellison who’s an unabashedly competitive sailor (he owns a racing sloop, Sayonnara) and businessman.

Earthrace

The Earthrace is a 1080-Horsepower, 78 foot speedboat wavepiercing trimaran that runs on biodiesel fuel. Designed to perform at high-speeds in the world's toughest ocean conditions, Earthrace submarines right through waves. When a wave is encountered, the hull pierces through the water rather than riding over the top.  The result is a dramatically smoother ride than traditional deep-V designs, minimizing stress on the vessel. Wave piercing allows the boat to cruise continuously at 40 knots in both flat and rough sea conditions. Combine this with environmentally friendly fuel, Earthrace is one of the most awe-inspiring vessels the world ever sees. She will soon attempt to break the world record for circumnavigating the globe using nothing but biodiesel renewable fuel.  Please click here to commission this model.
