ISLA BELLA LNG CONTAINER SHIP

Isla Bella is the world's first liquefied natural gas powered container ships. The 764ft ship is also the biggest dry cargo ship that runs on LNG. She provides for five times more 53-foot containers than current ships in Puerto Rico, with a capacity of 3,100 TEU. She also consists of high volume of refrigeration equipment to ensure transport of pharmaceuticals, produce, and other products.

By using LNG, the vessel reduces emissions of particulate matter (PM) by 99%, sulphur oxide (SOx) by 98%, carbon dioxide (CO2) by 71%, and nitrogen oxide (NOx) by 91%. She is propelled by a single engine that can give her a maximum speed of 22 knots.

Isla Bella features a ballast water treatment system making it the world’s greenest ship of its size. It is also capable of burning diesel when needed, thereby reducing the air-polluting emissions.

The name Isla Bella is Spanish for “beautiful island”. Her construction began with the cutting of first steel at NASSCO shipyard in San Diego, California, on 25 February 2014. She was launched on April 18 2015 in San Diego before a crowd of 3,400 people.

This 26" long (1/350 scale) primarily wood model of the Isla Bella container ship is scheduled to be completed soon. It will be top quality. We also want to build this ship at 1/144 and 1/200 scale. Please email us for prices.

ModelShipMaster.com builds models of all types. Our ability to make ship models is far superior than anywhere else. Our team is simply a better team: better knowledge, better skills, better commitment. If you see something that you 'like' somewhere, we will make one that you will 'love'. Take our Coast Guard line as an example. We started the line in 2020 - more than 10 years after the two prominent Coast Guard model makers, but all of our models are much better, and the Coast Guard Museum Northwest reached out to commission a model and several display cases in 2023. We are the only company in the USA that refuses to mix junk in our offerings. We are a standalone company; we sell what we produce. No drop-shipping. No horrible cheap 'models.'
