RAFFAELLO
ocean liner model
The
Raffaello was generally one of the most beautiful
ships both on the inside and the outside to ever
serve on any route. She provided perfect
service from the very beginning, with her luxurious
and very Italian restaurants, her six swimming
pools, Originally she was also faster than her
sister, probably owing to her slightly longer and
narrower hull. However, when the
Michelangelo's screws and transmission were changed
during her first winter overhaul in January 1966,
she overtook her sister on that front.
The
Raffaello ship was slightly bigger then her sister. The times when the ships were
simultaneously travelling on the transatlantic route
were very exciting for the passengers. The two
beauties would pass each other on the sea, passing
each other with combined speed of over 50 knots.
The powerful waves created by a ship shooke the
other one... The captains had them pass each other
as near as was safely possible to get the most from
such occasions.
Together with
Michelangelo model, this Raffaello ship model is displayed
in
CMIT-Europe's
board meeting room. This primarily wood model
features:
-
Plank-on-frame hull
- Windows and portholes are cutouts (not black decals),
uniform, and on straight lines.
- Captivating
lighting, with and green/red navigation
light that will light up your special evenings. LED light powered by standard 9v
battery for your convenience.
A ship is not an ocean liner without beautiful lighting.

"Hello Frank, yes it's a
beautiful model, my compliments; just one remark, I
would have liked seeing the Italian merchant marine flag
flying instead of a naked mast… George"
