SAPPHIRE PRINCESS
cruise ship
Sapphire Princess is a cruise ship owned by Princess
Cruises that entered service in 2004. She is the
largest and most-amenity filled ship yet to sail from
the West Coast, with a capacity of 2,670 passengers.
Sapphire
Princess's 18 decks are cleverly designed to provide a great
number of small, individualized spaces, each with a
distinct personality and experience. A coordinated
color palette of turquoise, sea green, terra cotta and
cream provides visual continuity throughout the ship
making you feel at home. The spa, the largest one
in the Princess fleet, draws on Asian influences for its
decor and treatments. The Hearts and Minds Wedding
Chapel on Deck 7 offers a unique "wedding cam" where
friends and family at home can watch the shipboard
ceremony on the Princess website. The
Children's and Teens' Center is larger than on any other
Princess ship. From the many dining options
to the array of entertainment in three main lounges,
Princess continues to emphasize "Personal Choice."
Passengers can choose between the traditional assigned
table at one of two seatings, or the restaurant-style
"Anytime Dining."
Diamond
Princess and Sapphire Princess are further development of Grand
Princess-class. Both cruise ships were built in Japan by
Mitsubishi heavy Industries. They are similar in size
and internal layout to Grand, Golden and Star Princess,
but instantly recognizable due to two pods attached to
the funnel and different position of night club, moved
from far aft position forward, next to the funnel’s
base.
