BOEING JETFOIL scale model
The Boeing
929 Jetfoil are passenger-carrying, waterjet-propelled
hydrofoils. Boeing adapted many systems used in jet
airplanes for hydrofoils. The first passenger-carrying
waterjet-propelled hydrofoil was launched in April 1974.
It was based on technology developed for the U.S. Navy
patrol hydrofoil Tucumcari. The product line was
licensed to the Japanese company Kawasaki Heavy
Industries. About two dozen Boeing Jetfoils saw service
in Hong Kong-Macau, Japan, South Korea, the English
Channel, the Canary Islands, the Korea Strait, Saudi
Arabia, and Indonesia.
This model was first
commissioned by a gentleman who spent many years in Hong
Kong and Hong Kong ferries commuting was a wonderful
part of his life. Our jetfoil ferry model is very
accurate. The Chinese words were challenging but we
managed to do it beautifully. If you want a jetfoil
